Comparison between matrix and back-to-back converter in flywheel energy storage systems

چکیده

Flywheel energy storage systems (FESS) are considered as the grid integration of renewable sources due to their buit-in advantages such fast response, long cycle life and flexibility in providing auxiliary services grid, frequency regulation, voltage support. This paper introduces structure comparison results matrix converter back-to-back which integrated with axial flux permanent magnet motor (AFPM) FESS. Two converters functionally equivalent terms input power quality regeneration capabilities but need be compared performance testing speed response. In this paper, research have been verified that perform more effective than converters.
